These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mobile application Be You Want to Be (the "App") provided by CHANG HAO LI ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The App
Be You Want to Be is an identity growth and daily practice tool. It helps you define a future version of yourself, practice daily habits, track progress, and work through personal growth exercises. The App is for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Not Medical or Professional Advice
The App provides self-guided personal growth content. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, contact a qualified professional or emergency services in your area. Do not disregard professional advice because of content in the App.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should use the App with parental or guardian consent where required by law.
4. Local-First Data
Your data is stored primarily on your device. No account is required. Optional iCloud sync, if enabled, stores data in your private iCloud container linked to your Apple ID. You are responsible for maintaining backups and device security. See our Privacy Policy for details.
5. Free Trial and Subscriptions
The App offers:
	•	14-day free trial: Full access for 14 days from first install
	•	Annual subscription: $49.99/year after trial (price may vary by region)
	•	Lifetime purchase: $149.99 one-time (price may vary by region)
After the free trial ends:
	•	A paid subscription or lifetime purchase is required to continue daily practice, weekly assessments, breakthrough rituals, anti-give-up notifications, and identity editing
	•	You may still view your existing path and historical records without a subscription
	•	Language and text size settings remain available
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account.
6. Family Sharing
Annual subscriptions and lifetime purchases may be shared with up to 6 family members through Apple's Family Sharing, subject to Apple's Family Sharing terms. Each family member maintains their own separate identity journey and data on their own device.
7. Apple EULA
Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). In the event of conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA regarding the App license, Apple's EULA governs the license to the App.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
	•	Use the App for any unlawful purpose
	•	Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as permitted by law
	•	Circumvent subscription or access controls
	•	Interfere with the App's operation or security
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, content templates, text, graphics, and software, is owned by CHANG HAO LI and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you create within the App (e.g., your personal reflections and identity descriptions).
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT USE OF THE APP WILL ACHIEVE ANY PARTICULAR PERSONAL OUTCOME.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHANG HAO LI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Changes to the App and Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or discontinue the App with reasonable notice where practicable.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
