CHANG HAO LI ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application Be You Want to Be (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
1. Our Local-First Approach
Be You Want to Be is designed local-first. Your identity profile, daily practice records, assessments, breakthrough history, and app settings are stored primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use the App.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App may store the following data locally on your device:
- Name and profile preferences you enter
- Future identity descriptions, abilities, milestones, and old patterns
- Daily practice completion records and streaks
- Weekly self-assessment scores
- Breakthrough ritual records
- Language, text size, notification, and schedule preferences
- Subscription status (trial, annual, lifetime, or expired)
This data remains on your device unless you choose to sync or export it.
3. Optional iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your App data is stored in a private iCloud container associated with your Apple ID. This sync is tied to your on-device account profile. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not:
- Operate our own user accounts or login servers
- Sell your personal data
- Use third-party advertising networks
- Track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising
- Collect health data from Apple Health or other health APIs (the App does not access HealthKit)
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide us with anonymized or aggregated purchase information necessary to validate your subscription status. Apple's privacy practices are described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications
With your permission, the App may send local and push notifications for practice reminders and anti-give-up support messages you opt into. Notification content is generated on your device based on your settings and progress. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings or within the App.
7. Analytics
The current version of the App does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and describe what is collected and why.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us at howly7777777@gmail.com.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Data on your device is retained until you delete the App or clear its data. iCloud data, if enabled, is retained according to your iCloud settings. Deleting the App from your device removes locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, you may delete the App and associated iCloud data through iOS settings.
10. Your Rights

11. International Users
The App is available in multiple languages and regions. Your data remains on your device (and optionally in your iCloud region). By using the App, you understand that optional iCloud sync may involve storage in data centers operated by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
